RBF-002: AudioPhantom
Class: Hazardous
AudioPhantom
Containment Procedures
- Admin team has quarantined AudioPhantom in a private “Audio Vault” game instance accessible only via ServerAdmin credentials.
- Within that instance, a hidden ForceField (Transparency=1) surrounds the anomaly’s Sound emitter at all times.
- A ServerScript in ServerScriptService constantly watches for any Sound objects tagged “PhantomLoop.” If detected, the script immediately Destroy()s the Sound and teleports affected players to SpawnLocation.
- AudioService replication is locked to read-only for all clients; any write attempt triggers an automatic server shutdown and wipes the AudioCache via the Admin “ClearAllAudio” command.
- Daily at 03:00 UTC, the lead admin runs the “FlushAudioGrid” console command to purge any residual loops and verify the ForceField is intact.
Description
RBF-002 (“AudioPhantom”) appears as a model that hooks into every client’s AudioService.
It emits a high-frequency loop peaking at 10–12 kHz—just above normal speech, but inside the painful range.
Players report sudden “ear-bleed” visual effects, extreme camera shake, and health drain when within 50 studs of the source.
Left unchecked for longer than 20 seconds, the server registers fatal audio-damage events and kicks the client with code 002-FATAL.
Fate
After multiple breach incidents in late 2010, the Roblox Admins locked AudioPhantom behind a multi-layered container in a vault instance.
No regular player can join that place—only Admin scripts may interact with the anomaly.
All future testing is performed via headless server simulations; any live-game exposure is strictly prohibited.
Addendum
-
Log 002.1 – Breach “Echo Crash” (2010-10-08)
At 14:22 UTC, a rogue plugin re-enabled AudioPhantom replication.
Over 200 clients experienced instant deafness visual; server auto-shutdown saved 12 players from forced disconnect.
-
Admin Memo – ScriptPatch v1.03
Updated containment script to include “Heartbeat” watchdog. If >3 loops are destroyed in 5 seconds, the system will reboot the vault instance.
-
Incident Report – Player “EchoHunter”
Attempted to record the loop with a custom AudioRecorder tool. Exposure lasted 15 seconds; client saved logs show 98% data corruption.
-
Security Bulletin 002-S
All admins must perform a “SilentJoin” audit before entering the vault.
Any “ClearAllAudio” usage outside the 03:00 UTC window requires full Command-Override log.
Real-World Effects
Players who remain within AudioPhantom’s 50-stud radius for more than 20 seconds report acute physical trauma that extends beyond the game client. Recorded real-world symptoms include:
-
Intense Tinnitus & Ear Bleed: A high-pitched ringing persists for hours; many describe feeling their eardrums “rupture,” sometimes expelling blood-tinged fluid.
-
Migraine & Cranial Pressure: Victims suffer splitting headaches and the sensation of skull bones grinding, leading to nausea and disorientation.
-
Temporary (Often Permanent) Hearing Loss: Exposure beyond 30 seconds can induce partial deafness in one or both ears; a subset of cases never regain full auditory function.
-
Seizure-Like Episodes: Extreme acoustic shock triggers vestibular imbalance—some players have collapsed or had convulsions when the loop abruptly peaks.
-
Psychological Trauma: Post-exposure reports include insomnia, hypervigilance to everyday sounds, and panic attacks when hearing similar frequencies.
All affected players are advised to seek immediate medical attention and avoid unprotected game sessions. Meta-studies by the Roblox Mythos Foundation have classified this as “Auditory Hemorrhage Syndrome,” and any client-side deviation from approved containment protocols is grounds for immediate account suspension.
